Is there a mom with a child with disabilities on here, if so can you please help me.. I was wondering how did you explain to another child about your child's disability (if visible), my 5 yr old finally seen my friends son ear and he made a comment about it today .. I pulled him aside and explain it to him even made him apologize for saying it, but I think my friend kind of got in her feelings and got really quiet like she didn't want to talk..

making it something to not talk about or comment about makes people feel more different.. I understand it's difficult but you shouldn't have to pull him aside but explaining in front of the mom that he's just a little different but nobody is the same, could maybe have touched her less

At What Age Should a Child Make Their Own Breakfast?

Make your own breakfast! At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
