I understand that they're in love with that person.. but letting them treat you like shit and continually hurt you is just dumb. i was in one for 2 years. Looking back when I thought i had no way out was just my ignorance holding me back from something better. @sophialynn

not everyone gives up on their family. marriage vows are through sickness and health, the good and the bad. til death do you part. not until one of you decides to wimp out and leave. people tend to forget their vows.

That is so true! I was with my baby's dad for 4 years but looking back it was my ignorance too! It's so not worth to stay in a relationship if it's only hurting yourself. But for everyone it's a lesson learn and sometimes sadly it's too late for some. Everyone deserves to have the best in their life and to be brought up not brought down!! :)

if you aren't willing to stick it out through the good and bad you shouldn't get married. my husband hates the institution of marriage. it hurts me deeply but those were my vows and I meant them. we both have PTSD and emotional disorders and trust issues. but you do not give up on one another. you will have bad days and good ones. we all do. we all make mistakes.

@lakilucid, yeah if my man hits me or anything im gone. if he isnt gonna respect his vows or whatever then why should i stau? no thanks. rather find someone who will love me and treat me right :)

well my husband and I don't believe in the double standard that he can't hit a woman. we have gotten into physical altercations in the past. we moved past it. I made a stupid judgement call and messaged an ex to tell him I hope he was happy and my husband is pissed at me for messaging him. this was a week ago. I feel genuinely remorseful but naturally he is still very upset. he is being very distant and cold. that's still not a reason to leave. my point is, we are only human. we make mistakes. him hitting you one time is not grounds to leave. if it continues then yes leave.

i mean, i dont believe in that either. but im just saying for the ones who just have their partner hitting them for no reason.

One time is one times to many.... You may not survive the next one. Domestic violence is REAL and if he does it once he'll probably do it again. Leave because your safety and happiness isn't worth staying.

i totally agree I was in an abusive relationship for 2 years my kids were 1 & 1 1/2 no car no nothing I was 19 and I finally decided to leave him there no way in earth I was going to allow him to mistreat me again. Marriage isn't about stupidity it's about love and respect. I didn't want my kids to grow up seeing him always on drugs and trying to hit me and them thinking its something normal. if they hit you once they'll probably hit you again nobody should hit no-one not him to your nor the other way around.
