They stopped the labor for the next 48 hours (till Sunday morning ) to give his lungs time to mature. They gave me a steroid shot and another at 8 Am to quickly develop his lungs and get him where he needs to be to be safe. After 48 hours, they take me off the IV meds and if I start contracting again on my own, they will let me labor naturally. If I develop an infection, they will induce me. Same thing if he is under stress. @dennisbaby

@sarahemccormick, are you definitely delivering this weekend? say you don't have an infection and you don't start contracting on your own will they let you go even tho your water broke? still praying for you... hope you get some sleep girl
@jashmen, Well, this is what the doctor said. Where my water has broken, the risk of infection is a very real threat , so my new 'full term' is one more week, if I can make it without needing to be induced because of infection. They are checking my blood every 24 hours. I have no idea how dialated I am because they dont want to do an internal exam because of the risk of introducing bacteria, and unless Im feeling like I need to push at any point, they wont. She said I can go up to another week if I am able, but if labir were to start once the magnesium stops (which, I honestly think it will), they arent going to stop it. They just wanted to give him a little more time to absorb all the steroids and magnesium for his brain. I am getting my second dose of betamethazone (steroid shot) for his lungs in about 40 minutes. I will keep updating you girls for sure ☺
