what the hell? no sit your fiance down and talk to him NOT cool. I get why your asking now I wouldn't let jo sign the bc if he did that and listened like that if y'all have plans y'all have plans. but please look onto it bc I be live Husbands have more rights than you think, I know during a divorce I f your pregnant and the baby isn't the husbands the child is presumed his and he gets custody until proven otherwise ( went through it)

His friend can't take over. You and your fiancé are the parents. His buddy has now rights. And believe me you'll need child support unless you have a job that you can afford life on your own with a baby, day care, food, clothing and so on. How would you feel if he was like "after you have this baby I don't want you to have any rights to him". It's just sad that he wouldn't have rights to the miracle he HELPED make.. Just tell his friend to butt out. You two are the parents and will raise him how you two decide not how his buddy would.

you're very welcome. Definitely call a lawyer and they will provide you with all of the facts. The only way you will be able to avoid him having rights is to make sure he isn't put on your baby's birth certificate otherwise he is entitled just as you are. Good luck.

Think of your child... I'm sorry this may sound rude but if your married you don't have a baby daddy, you have a father of your child, if you feel he will be doing things you don't agree with talk to HIM about it.. don't take away his rights as a parent. That will most definitely have you going through the big D "and I don't mean Dallas"! He is just as much as a parent as you are. The only way I know of is if he isn't there for the birth and his name doesn't go on the birth certificate then he doesn't have rights... But remember if he isn't on the birth certificate and something DOES happen (heaven forbid) you will have a hell of a time getting child support!

If he files for a paternity test with the courts and it comes back a match the judge will order either 50/50 or set some kind of visitation schedule once the baby is a little older unless you can prove he is a threat to your child.

I think that it depends on your state. I was a nanny for a couple and when they decided to split she left and moved the baby to another state and his lawyer said that there wasn't really much that he could do without proving her unfit.... and even then he would have to move to that state which would have different laws.

no, but if he is not present during the birth they will not put him on the certificate. he must be there to consent

@hermommy ..it was just a precaution.. as who has more rights. his bestfriend has been all in our relationship giving his unsolicited advice and input.. and i hate that he wants thay friend to be a god father .. i just have a feeling imma have a husband and a baby daddy.. i don't want him making my "husband: do things without me.

only if he is on the birth certificate. if he isn't on the certificate then he will gain rights as soon as he takes a paternity test and is put on the certificate.

just a question but if your going to marry him and love him why wouldn't you want him to have rights, if y'all ever got divorces he would have to take you to court your still the mother

If you are married he automatically gets rights as he should, and if he is on the birth certificate same thing.
