@motherof4_galore, he was behind on child support but not that much. only like a grand. And him being behind wasnt his fault. His ex wife forgot to turn in the papers at his job to have it withheld

you should be able to dispute that since you two aren't married unless he carried you and your child... if y'all just filed joint they should be able to redo it or make her pay you back... I'm not totally sure but I've heard of a similar situation

exactly. We're not married. @cammommy504 . he even called and asked nicely if we could have it back cause we're supposed to get a house tomorrow. not only for us but for her kids that come stay every weekend. she said she would have to think about it

WTF?! if all else fails, if contact a tax lawyer... well any lawyer and have a talk with them on what to do because she may still be entitled to his stuff (not sure if he's paying alimony or not) but she's not at all entitled to yours because yours isn't combined with his...like you said y'all aren't married

Actually it's not against the law to not do your taxes unless you make more than a certain amount where you would have to pay irs. That's the only way you can be penalized other than that no...I know cause my father worked for the irs office in Austin.

If I'm not mistaken you can call Irs and get that issue fixed and you can get your money back. If he was only back tracked a grand then you should've only received the back payments and the current one...you can also go to child supplrt@court
