let him help as much as possible. make him 23rd

When I had my second son my first was 1 year. So when my belly got bigger he didn't want to come near me at times. He didn't understand and no matter how much I tried to get him involved he didn't like having a brother. He would sit on him, put blankets over him and fill his crib with toys. Now they love each other and hate each other. Just explain it to him and get him involved. My youngest is 3 years 4 years on Valentines day. He was jealous at first but always touching my belly and saying the baby does or doesn't like what I eat or do.

I have my 2 year old get me the wipes or a diaper, I even have him put her clothes in the basket... also I bought a gift and took it to the hospital and gave it to him when he came to visit and said it was from his sister... I think he was more put out that I wasn't home with him at night than he was with the fact I had a baby lol (I had a c-section so he only got to see me for short visits in the hospital)

honestly, no matter what you do, he is still going to be jealous of the baby. we do many things to keep our 2 year old involved, and he is still aggressive towards her at times. He has the biggest attitude and acts out negatively even when we give him positive attention. He still helps out with everything, but he acts like a bigger baby then his little sister does.

Great advice thanks! What do I do at the hospital tho, my son has to stay with my mom and my mother in law and then come visit mom and dad and leave again and see a baby too. I don't want him to get upset

yea I'm like that my daughter will be 2 but she understand going to get pamper n throwing a dirty one away so that's how I'll involved her in my 7 year old she can help do everything

he's still young ...but u can get him involved like help get a pamper r throwthe dirty one away.... n when the baby sleep spend time with him...

involve him in things you do with the baby...let him help hold the bottle with you...giving the baby a bath...things like that.
