I delivered 8 days ago and have had awful anxiety since. My chest is always heavy and I feel like I'm seconds away from a panic attack at all times. Is this just a part of baby blues or should I look into seeing a doctor? I'm not depressed, I'm just constantly afraid something bad could happen to her.
@kristadawn93, same thing happened tp me, it turned out to be PPD. i got a prescription for zoloft and talk therapy. its helping so far. pls get help if you feel you need it, dont let that feeling stop you from enjoying your LO. this time is so precious and goes by quick.
That happened to me! It started when I was in the hospital, I feel constantly overwhelmed with fear something is going to happen! I think it's from my hormones going crazy after delivery, but I told my nurse and dr about it and they gave me a rx for Ativan to use to manage for the time being and it's helped SO much!
I'd just find someone to talk to (not necessarily a doctor) it could just be you trying to adjust especially if it's your first child. I felt that way for the first month until I got used to it :)
that happened to a friend if mine and I think she said it was a form if ppd. she said she felt if she took her eyes off her baby something would happen. it's up to you to go to the doc about it or not....I do think it's a slight form of ppd. but it's all about how much it affects you. hope you have some relief mommy!!
I think right now I'm so overwhelmed because I don't have much of a family and my SO's family tries to help but their help is pretty much trying to do everything and act like I'm incapable of being a mom. If they're around I don't even get to hold my daughter. I'm so excited to be leaving here tomorrow and be on my own schedule and not feel like I'm being judged all the time. I still think I'm going to say something to my doctor though just to make sure everything is okay. @jashmen @xxsarahbearmillerxx @katiek113 @marmber
