As nicely as possible haha I feel the same way. So I just sat my mom down and told her I don't really want to bare it all to anyone I don't have to..that the only reason my SO will be there is because he helped make the baby. Just explain your reasoning. she's your mom she'll understand. you may even change your mind when you get to the hospital and feel like you're dying. Even though I'm 23 years old when i had surgery the first thing I did after waking up was ask for my mother. theyre comforting people xD

U can't...it will hurt either way...she just has to respect it. I told my mom and she was in the room until it was time to deliver and she waited outside of the door. she didn't like it but she respected our decision. we let her back in after we had bonding time.

Just tell her it's a special moment between the two of you and she will see her as soon as she's born it WILL hurt her feelings no matter what but it's your choice and she has to respect it

Tbh, I am just gonna have the nurses say the only people on the list are my doulas and husband. Sneaky, maybe, but sorry not sorry. The hospital I am at has a huge waiting room with lots of comfy seats and as many people as want to can show up and chill there I don't give a damn but you all ain't squeezing in my room, I will say that much! @leighannandsean, yes tell your nurse that you only want your SO back there and they will kick everyone out saying that there's only one person allowed during delivery.
