I have type 1 diabetes (even worst) had it since age 4. It's a full time job to keep my blood sugars down but I had a wonderful pregnancy and delivery with my son 😀 he was 6lbs.. Came naturally one week early. His blood sugars were fine after birth, mine went low so I was highly monitored. I hoping everything goes smooth again with my second baby!! Doctors and nurses take good/extra care of you, try not to worry mama!

@mommy356, that's the thing she didn't tell me any just to not worry, its hard not to worry, she didn't put me on no diet or anything :(

@neni0424, just follow the directions of your doctor and follow your diet. in the beginning I was told I was border line just eat healthy

if you maintain your diet and do what your suppose to do your baby shouldn't have it my daughter tested negative for it. and she was a small baby. I was also worried because my husbands dad has diabetes and has a insulin pump. but thank God she don't have it. @neni0424

finger sticks 4 times a day with diet. At the end I was giving myself insulin

you can maintain it with diet they will give you some charts and tell you how to eat without having your baby gain a lot of weight.

nope never induced always went in on my own. first son 40 weeks, second girl 38 weeks, third girl 38 weeks. my last baby 37 weeks boy

@mrs.cravens, @mommy356 so my doc told me he wasn't sure if I had it but most likely I did but to not worry that it wasn't high:( I have to see a specialist for it, but I'm sure i have it

I'm having my glucose test next week due to being 27 weeks and my baby already weight 2 pounds 3 oz. just a scary thought of the unknown! @mommy356 did you have to do anything special while pregnant? were u induced or anything

I had gestational diabetes and I had to poke my self 3 times a day I maintained everything with just dieting. I had my daughter at 37 weeks and she was only 5lbs 15oz. I promise you it's not as bad as it sounds my baby tested negative for diabetes after she was born and mine went away. I also breast feed they say it's better when u had gestational diabetes for the baby because it makes there risk lower to getting it. .

they prick your finger through out laboring to monitor your sugars and afterwards they prick the baby for 24 hours to monitor the sugar level
