So has anyone been induced? I had my 1st naturally.. water broke on its own and such. I saw my doc yesterday and she said in 10 days if I don't have her she will induce me due to gallbladder issues and such.. I'm a little nervous.. what happens?! It doesn't affect the baby right?! Does it hurt more?! Do you stay in the hosp longer?!

@bekka1071, so what do they do? increase the pitocin? have you dilated anymore since midnight?

Oh wow. they'd keep you in the hosp for those 3-5 days to monitor and give the meds?? I'm dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced.

Not a longer stay in the hospital, but it can take up to 3-5 days to have baby. Depending on the things they have to do to get you progressing. I started with cervadil, which has to be in for 12 hours and then pitocin. I ended up in a c section because my babies were showing distress during contractions. However, it wasn't because of the induction, the small contractions were hurting them so we decided it wasn't worth it. They just couldn't handle labor.

My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.
