I'm literally about in tears right now. my baby is 21 days old and I'm not going back to work till late april. but I cannot stand the idea of putting her in child care places. 1. I don't trust people I don't personally know. 2. they're dirty. 3. I can't afford 400$ a month for a "crappy" place. 5. I want her to be taken care of. not just another body for someone to watch. I don't have any family to watch her and the closest members of my SO family lives 35 mins away and I can't afford gas driving 70 miles a day. :( I beyond sad right now. I just want the best for my baby. :(

well if you drive that then I think that would be cheaper than daycare

You can go and talk to your local daycares & even get help from the state with child care costs. I know there's tons of bad news about daycares, but my mom worked at one for years when I was younger so she could bring me to work with her. You could always try switching jobs so that you work at a daycare & then you won't have to be away from the baby 😊 Daycares are required to give you a daily summary & report of what went on with your child every day they're there. I absolutely loved going to daycare, & while your baby is very young, it'll also teach them social skills early on if you chose to do daycare.
Driving to his closest family's house for babysitter, if it's 70 miles away, even if it's meeting half way, will probably cost you around $20 per day. So daycare is probably cheaper in the long run if you're paying his family to watch the baby as well. Sorry for the long comment lol.

Talk to local daycares meaning you can tour the facility, meet the teachers there, & get all of your questions answered. Plus everyone who works at a daycare is required to be drug free & know infant/child CPR, which is a bonus 😊

I would switch jobs but I work for my family and I'm a manager so it's kinda hard to up and quit them :/ and maybe I'm just to anxious about being away from my baby. thank you all for the advice!
