tips on potty training a 2 year old girl. she's ready for it. she takes her diapers off, lets me know when she goes, and she does sit on her little princess potty. she just hasn't grasped the concept of going in it yet and I'm at a loss. she also wipes herself. anything I can do to get her to understand? I already let her in the bathroom with me and I was hoping she would pick up that I go when I have to, but that hasn't worked. I've tried stickers as incentive and I want to avoid candy incentives as I don't allow candy due to her issues.

Does your child act a certain way when they have to potty? Mine hid in a corner or squatted or she stayed completely still and stared at me. Whenever I would see her do this, I would pick her up and make her sit on the potty. She eventually started to go on her own. We sometimes used little panties instead of pullups.

Also we learned that she hated having accidents in panties because they get her all wet and don't absorb like pullups. We only did panties a few times bc it is messy haha

@tomoiee95, she only grabs the front of her diaper after she does it. or completely takes her diaper off after doing number 2. I have to ask her if she went. I'm thinking about getting another potty to put downstairs because our bathroom is up 2 flights of stairs.

Yes and Idk how you feel about this but I also let her see me use her potty (i only did #1) she loves copying me so she got the hang of it. This might be tmi and gross but you have to show them you're actually peeing, they only think you're sitting down on a chair if you dont. Gotta hover over it a little. Haha but that's another way.

with my step daughter we put her in undies while we were at home and after a few accidents she knew right away she needed to go on the potty so she wouldnt have pee on herself or the clothes she picked out for the day. she's now 4 1/2 and we have 0 issues. this girl hasn't wet the bed in over a year either 😁
