They can give you pain meds through your IV, without an epidural!

I was told by my nurse that was doing my epidural with my last baby that it won't paralyze you that's just a myth the reason you end up paralyzed is if you move or jerk away and make them mess up I just take a deep breath and relax lol and use a pillow or another nurse to hold on to and it's over in just a few mins I have had three epidurals in my life @hermommy idk how truthful my nurse was cuz I have never met someone who had bad experience with epidurals

I was afraid of an epidural, due to j have ms. but I got a half of one just to relax me and the baby. I would do it again if I need it. got it at 6-7 cm

iv pain meds! epidural will only do that if you move whe. they are administered the epidural. but mine messed my back up. I still have back problems from mine that was almost a year ago.

what kind though Iin allergic to some and addiction runs in my family @babymama85 @abbigailsmommy

@hermommy, they won't give you enough to get addicted, just maybe a dose every few hours. But I'm not sure exactly what the name of it was. Your dr should be able to tell you

mhm. ya, and you would have to ask the Dr and nurses what pain meds they give. I'm not gonna do narcotics. I am so against them.

Lol I was nervous with the first one and then some nervousness the second time around the third time I was not so much but then I ended up in the or for a c section by the end of the night so that made my nervousness come back and now with this 4th baby I have to have a repeat c section and all my nervousness is coming back like I'm a first time mom again lol the older I get the more paranoid I am @hermommy

iv pain meds will likely be nubaine mixed with an anti-nausea med because it makes you feel sick, but i horrified to get my epidural, cried getting it. i wont ever get another. my back locks up on me now and i have days i cant stand for than 5 minutes at a time or i damn near collapse in pain.

yeah epidural isn't an option lol never was ill be damn if domes got the chance to paralyze me my sister said something about morphine @pixiestix p

they might. ive heard of them giving morphine. i just got nubaine and phenergan (anti-nausea). i was in labor almost 60 hours because i was induced and tried soo hard to avoid the epidural. haha

im a FTM and WAS never going to consii an epidural either but I've done lots of research and asked a ass of questions to my doctor and experienced moms and my doctor also said paralyzed thing is a myth. after considering gas, iv meds or natuarl I actually think epidural would be best for me but I am going to go as long as I can before getting it

they dont give constant amounts, its one shot into your iv and it keeps you pretty good to go for several hours. lol
