or would one like this better suit a newborn?

@ashnicole, definitely not the original pic you posted. my daughter had this for a few months and even at 8 months old it was way too big. this smaller one is more suitable for a newborn.

the second one is better the first looks more for toddlers not newborns

I think for a newborn the infant carseat (the second one) was better, so when I took my child places it was easy to carry, instead of having to carry her and people be all in her face trying to touch her or ask to hold her, I put her in the carseat, and had a cover on it. Plus when you go shopping its was better to put it in the shopping cart. I wouldn't get the other until about a year or so. well that's what we did at least.

I have the older model of this and love it. my seats have an odd tilt so the recline feature is really nice and it has great safety ratings

getting this one with taxes but for now using my more affordable one till
