I know I'm a day late I didn't realize you had answered my comment, but if I was you I would say something to the foster mom about taking out that wool type padding behind him in the seat. there shouldn't be any after market products on or around the carseat straps or behind the baby. they interfere with the carseats ability to keep him safe in a wreck, and they're a fire hazard. she's putting your baby's life at risk and it's not her place to do that.
lol. I forgot I have to tag. and I know. you would think that the foster system wouldn't have anything like that, but they don't know much. just like when my previous case worker did a house check, I got in trouble for having bumpers in the crib even though he was sleeping in it. but she has mesh bumpers and I even got told that those aren't save either. @crunchymomma
It's simply the fact that a lot of people don't understand that after market products aren't safe. people think "they wouldn't sell it if it wasn't safe" which isn't the case. I would just maybe do some research on the subject then mention it to the foster parent during your next visit. just let them know "hey look, this isn't safe, I know you mean well but I'M the parent, that's MY child and I would appreciate if you did what's best for him and traveled safely with him"

Is his foster mom the one who got him that carseat and everything in it?
