So I need to rant, and then I need honest opinions. I posted last night about getting this cocker spaniel puppy. I'm supposed to be picking him up at 10:30 thismorning. well, my mother lives with my husband and I. She doesn't have a job, and she has a cat. She's had this car for 11 years, and it doesn't bother me. except my husband and I are constantly cleaning up after it. But whatever. Well, thismorning I told her about this puppy and she FLIPPED out on me. I have been wanting a cocker puppy since I was 9, when mine passed away. I finally find one, and she's being such a bitch, screaming and yelling at me. Maybe I shouldn't go through with the dog? please be honest.

it's just so annoying. she's saying this place is going to be nasty and just losing her shit. She went through the house cussing and ranting making me feel like dirt.

I told her when she moved in here, that this was her home too and I wanted her to be comfortable. and I do. But she isn't paying any bills, hasn't gotten a job, and is bitching about what we want.

it's your house and you should be able to do as you please. she has absolutely no say especially if she's not helping out with anything not even her own cat

Honestly do what you want if it your house. If you want a puppy get a puppy! But I do have to say a puppy and a new born are super hard work! I've had clients (I work a vet hospital) who did this and got overwhelmed quickly, because puppies can honestly be as hard of work as babies. Lol but don't let your mom make your decision for you.

@alyssabrittany yeah I kinda thought about that. I'm due May 1st and wanted a puppy to bond with before baby comes, and that baby can grow with. cockers are great family dogs. I'm nervous about it, but he is 12 weeks old and is already crate trained. I'm hoping that helps.

might come off as mean but, why should she get to say what pets you get to take in to your house?
If it was me I would say "accept it or get your cat out of my house" and if I was already in a bad mood I would tell her "get over it or get out"
but that's just me. I don't know your situation. It's ultimately your decision.

No you shouldn't feel like that or let her treat you like that. I know she's your Kom but she has to respect you in your house and she has no say in any of your decisions
