so my hemoglobin A1C is 5.8. my midwife said that is a bit high and I have to take a early gestational diabetes test ( that nasty drink with artifical colors and preservatives). I asked her about the jellybean method and she said they no longer offer it. Does anyone else know any alternatives? Has anyone dealt with possible gestational diabetes?

some places will allow u to monitor ur sugars for a week and then take the numbers to the dr but some wont. I tried to do that but they told me it was not "diagnostic" enough. I have hypoglycemia and me doing the test was a huge waste of time in my opinion.

You can do a meal too.

You can have a meal equivalent to the amount of glucose in the drink. Like pancakes or something.
