I just started my baby on formula 2 days ago (supplementing and still giving breast milk as well) and she hasn't pooped in those 2 days. how long should I keep her on this brand before trying a new one? I don't want to change too soon before her system is adjusted but I also don't want to keep her on too long and make her uncomfortable 😕

Yup. She was on Enfamil Gentlease for a week and a half and she was so constipated the entire time. But she has acid reflux and a suspected milk allergy. She's been on soy for 2 days and the constipation is gone so I hope we've finally found one that works for her

It usually take 7 to 10 days to see an effect from a formula. My baby is now on her 3rd type of formula and each time I had to wait a week or two before knowing for sure it wasn't the right kind for her

@nickysmom89, not sure how long, we brought her to the pediatrician (no longer her pediatrician after this) and they misdiagnosed her with just a cold and didn't test for it. and no, she doesn't seem uncomfortable at all, despite having the RSV and starting the formula. she's still super happy and laughing.

How long has she had RSV ? Does she seem more uncomfortable after starting the formula?

@nickysmom89, well she hasn't gone in two days so I would say that's constipation?? she is also battling RSV right now though so her poor little body has so much going on that one thing could be affecting another

My LO had the same issue. His pediatrician said that sometimes babies can go a few days without a bowel movement. Just try to massage your LO's tummy and give them a warm bath. If your LO seems very constipated and/or uncomfortable I would contact their physician.
