no, 10 is young for permanent dye like that. I'd be upset too. i think that hair chalk stuff is okay...or the spray in, wash out stuff...but not permanent.

He should have talked to you first! it's not okay.. at the same time, it's not your daughter's fault they were irresponsible.. so try to show her it's nice, but as an experiment.. for a month or so.. then dye her hair to a more natural color.. let her choose it with you, maybe.. what do you think about it?

I have a soon to be 14 year old bonus son. I have known him since he was 2. I would never do that with him without permission from his bio mom and my other half. Just a matter of respect.

@theosmommy, I'm trying not to let her see how upset I am and I doubt I'll re-dye it. I'll have her wash 2-3 times each shower to see if I can fade it out. I imagine she loves it. I don't. :(

They have ColorOops at Walmart, it takes the color at safely without bleach or ammoniah. Maybe try that and then re dye it back closer to her natural color

Yes, it's 10 dollars . You use it in te shower and wash your hair with it for 15 mins ... It's next to the hair dye at the store

yes @lostinct82mj I dyed my hair black and the color oops got all of it out and my hair looked like its natural color again. definitely try it

Obviously you already know it's not your daughters fault if kids were allowed to do whatever they want it would be much worse than hair dye but let's be real your ex husband most certainly should have brought this to your attention before allowing such a thing because now when you ask her to take it out you're going to look like the bad guy when in reality she's 10 that's still young to do something like that she's not 16 I would be so pissed off at him but I think you are handling it more than appropriately so kudos to you

And I also agree with what an above poster said some schools do have rules against unnatural hair colors especially at such a young age I feel that he didn't take anything into consideration especially your consent

@gabesmommy, her ballet teacher is going to freak out tomorrow at class and I'll be the one who has to deal with it. Im surprised I didn't get a phone call from the school today. Its kind of ritzy. :(

I think 10 is way too young to dye hair! I wouldn't be happy at all.
