Im so jealous most of yall get ultrasounds every few weeks at your doc appts...Im 34 weeks and have only had 2 ultrasounds my whole pregnancy(10wks and 20wks) 😠 these military docs are stingy with the ultrasounds 😞😞😞
Lol Langley is where she went too!! I go to a doctor like 15 min from there. I figured with family coming it'll be easier to be off base then try and get them on and off base!
i havent had a problem with them until this pregnancy with my other 2 kids going to a military doc was ok i had no issues @mommyof3llk
yea i guess it depends on the doc or the base where your ob care is. i go to Langley afb and they've been stingy lol no sweat tho this pregnancy is almost over @d_ryan
my husband is military also and I just switched from tricare prime to tricare standard and went out in town. I cannot stand military doctors
My husband is military and we see a civilian doctor, did not need a referral or anything. As long as they accept tricare you are fine. Also, my best friend just had a baby on base and she had ultrasounds like every month (no complications, just checking the size) so it just depends on who you see and your pregnancy
It shouldn't matter. If you're not happy. They should give you a referral
yea my friend just told me she got a referral to a civilian doc but she was early on in her pregnancy i doubt my doc would allow that now cuz im so far along. i just keep telling myself its almost over and ill see baby girl soon. @bry142
yea they are pretty strict! but my husband is in the mulitary and im under his insurance and its free so i just suck it up lol had to have my oldest daughter at a civilian hospital and the gave me hell for not going to the military hospital. shouldn't be like that but i think its more about money than the patients well being but im not trying to complain lol @mommacrystal
You may be able to get a referral. I'm in the military and when I was active duty I got a referral for a civilian Doctor.
ladies in my water aerobics class told me they weren't going to any military dr bc of how strict they are with procedures plus if u go to another you can't have your records. weird. I'd tell them lol if not then you should be able to go to local tech. I'm sorry they are like that. shouldn't be. @mrssmithmomof3 *hugs*
yes i have they are just always full and not taking anymore volunteers when i call. i plan on going to school for the same thing after i have the baby tho 😊😊 @peanut_baby
right!! that's how i feel! this is supposed to be a happy time i wanna see my baby lol all they do at the doc appts is listen to her heartbeat and measure my belly and thats it. and the only ultrasounds i have are on a disc so i dont even have the physical paper ones. idk if they are tryna cut back funds and maybe that ultrasound paper is expensive idk but dang i just wanna see my baby 😔 @mommacrystal
have u tried looking into local schools? My cousin is going to school to be an ultrasound technician and she's always looking for volunteers... that's how I've gotten mine.. I'll be getting my 3d/4d one at the beginning of March.
wow really?? well maybe i should ask the doc at my next appt why i haven't gotten any sonograms!! i dont care for langley every appt i have i see a diff doc and i have to keep telling them my medical history etc its just annoying. im used to having one doc thru the whole pregnancy and that is the same doc who isually delivers the baby it always seems like they are just unorganized. @d_ryan
