Did the genetic testing and took the envelope to the baker and mad us a cake for our reveal party and I am pregnant with my first baby and it's a girl! I'm so excited and happy. Anyone else do the genetic testing and it be correct about the gender?

Genetic testing? Will you or won't you be doing any genetic testing? I haven't decided. I didn't do any with my son. I was leaning towards doing it with this baby cause I'm 35 and I had a miscarriage in Jan. But- I'm 100% not willing to do an amnio or terminate no matter what. I'm worried that if a false positive pops up then I'll just be super anxious forever. On the plus side it would give us time to prepare or get treatment set up. I don't know what I'm going to do but I was just wondering your thoughts.

I found out the sex of my baby from doing the genetic testing :)

it's possible however, I've read you have to be at least 12 or 13 weeks for them to be able to "predict" the gender

Depends on which test. I've had almost every one except Jewish Ashkenzi since we're not E European or Jewish.

if it's the blood test that tests for down syndrome and a few other things, then yes they will tell you that the gender if you ask then.

They won't test for gender if you have state insurance. I asked and they said it won't cover it. :(

@southernmoma4e2, because it is not a medical necessity. They pay for testing for downs and a few others but that is all. I got mine done a while ago and was so upset that they wouldn't do it I had to wait until I was 17 weeks and pay for an ultrasound to see what it was because I couldn't wait until my 20 week anatomy scan. You should be fine with that insurance. It is Apple health and the other that won't do it.

personally i think the state should cover the gender part state or not just seems unfair to the women that has state @machelle137

I know, we get the bare minimum of care. At least we get an ultrasound at 20 weeks to see gender.
