What is the best items to pack in the hospital bag?

Nothing. Just a phone/laptop and some clothes to go home in.... You're not really going to use anything else.

And maybe a nursing bra if you plan on breastfeeding

@peanutsmom1231, I heard most hospitals give you a bunch of stuff that you'll need while your there that's why I'm indecisive on what to bring..

@courtlynn8, they do, they give you diapers, soap, formula if you're going to bottle feed, pads (you will DEFINITELY need them) and I recommend theirs because they will absorb all the blood unlike regular pads. They also give you disposable underwear, please wear those unless you don't mind messing up your panties. You may want to take some pajamas if you don't want to wear the backless wonder. And also a couple outfits for baby when they take pictures and one to go home in. But they give you onesies, a hat and sometimes socks if they have them.

@peanutsmom1231, okay thank you this helps a ton to have some idea! I just figured since I'm 36 weeks along I should probably get a bag ready and was really unsure what was the right stuff to bring cause I see so many different checklists and didn't know which one I should really follow.

@courtlynn8, at the end of the day, just a toothbrush and real toothpaste cuz theirs tastes like minty pickle juice, pajamas if you wanna be comfy, a couple books if you're a reader, snacks, a softer washcloth, a couple outfits and hat for baby, phone/laptop or tablet and make sure baby's car seat gets there at some point because they have to see and inspect it before they let you leave.

I packed a bag according to the checklist, with my first and barely even opened that bag

@peanutsmom1231, thank you so much! definitely getting the bag around tomorrow! I didn't want to have that problem where I over pack and end up not using anything. So indecisive given that this is my first baby and didn't want to have too much of a hassle.
