You clean it right & teach him how to keep good hygiene, there will be no problems. Completely unnecessary, strictly cosmetic.

The hygiene factor is untrue! It's actually the same in cleanliness, just gotta know how to shower. and it's easy to not give someone an STD/infection if you use protection! It is painful whether or not every baby cries while having it done, going home and peeing in a diaper while trying to heal a wound.. Think about how awful that would be. A lot of babies die and get infections from circumcisions. I'm so sad there are people actually backing up circumcision, it's a very unnecessary procedure and people in other countries think Americans are crazy for having it done so much. It's simply cosmetic, for looks.. It's not right. Just make sure you do your research either way. Look up pros and cons to both, though the pros of leaving your baby boy intact far outweigh anything. There are SO many nerves in the foreskin, and it can be painful for him to have erections when he gets older, also taking away a lot of his pleasure. There's so much more but I'll save you from an essay...... 😏 I'm really glad you're thinking about keeping him whole as nature intended :)

they dont cry bc the pain is so bad it puts them into shock. but the pain isnt the biggest problem with circumcision. i think you should just do research of your own and make your own decision. no one agrees with me on not getting my son circumcised except for my doctor & doula (the two people who know the most about this kind of stuff). I feel completely confident in my decision, mostly bc I feel knowledgable. dont listen to what everyone else says.

don't let anyone tell you hygiene isn't a factor, it is for young boys and when your boy grows to be an old man. yes a fully functioning adult would have no problem, but an old man who is losing his faculties would have a bit of a harder time remembering when he last cleaned. my husband is my biggest supporter for getting our son circumcised, knowing the facts. I guarantee he still enjoys sex and all of that. you just need to research and decide what is most important to you, and how likely any bad side effects of either decision are. I have personally never met a man that I know has any bad issues from having it done, and we all know this country takes care of men's rights first, so if circumcision was that bad, it would have been done away with long ago.

I did it and I'm glad I did and I agree as long as you clean it while it's healing and teach him how to have good there no issue and my son didn't cry he cried more when he got his tounge tie and lip tie than when he has his circumcisions

I'm definitely having my son circumcised. I think that's a decision you have to make your self.

I was debating on this too. I know I shouldn't because it's completely not necessary but I don't ever want him to feel weird or be uncomfortable knowing that everyone else has it done but not him. I wish it wasn't a societal norm. But I think I'm gonna do it for fear of the psychological affects it can have on him if we don't get it done. My poor baby.... Already being molded by this cold world 😔

@motherlotus, there's actually countries who wait until the boy is 5 until performing the circumcision. that's more traumatic than when they are babies. we aren't the only ones who do circumcisions.

I had a friend who had to have it done for medical reasons at 22, he said it was the absolute worst experience of his life and he hated that his mother didn't chose to do it when he was a baby. the recovery time as you age is longer and they definitely remember that pain then. my son cried but he came back to me nursed and was fine within minutes of being back to me
