Genetic testing is done with a blood test. If they feel something may really be wrong they can do an amnio. However amnios can be very dangerous and cause miscarriage so they won't force this on you.
That's not true .. II got genetic testing done when I was pregnant with my daughter because I thought she was going to have sickle cell disease they normally do genetic testing around 16 week and the test is called amniocentesis. And they do stick a needle in your belly

So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. I had a genetic blood test done at 12 weeks due to my baby having extra fluid in the back of her neck at the 12 week ultra sound scan. Thank goodness everything came back fine! You can choose to have an amino if the blood test comes back abnormal.
