I want to try to breast feed my 2nd baby even tho it didn't go very well with my first.
My questions are...
1. How can I lactate more?
2. How do I use a pump?
3. How do I store breast milk after I pump?
I've been told the recipe on www.howsweeteats.com is really good, that's what I'm going to try first. if you don't have time/energy for an actual recipe, I've seen boxes of premade mixes at places like Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us too.
@genevievexxooxxoo, I will becalling monday! @hotrod91 what recipe would you recommend?
I'm buying stuff to make lactation cookies, I know there is a tea from Earth Mama to help with lactation, and a lot of moms in my plexus and breastfeeding group have had great results with improved lactation while on plexus products.
Yes! I just found out that this pregnancy and was so excited lol give them a call Monday. the only one I've heard of not covering them is Amerigroup
@genevievexxooxxoo, really? that's awesome I hope it covers it because I've peeked at the breast pumps and a they are expensive.
@bentley_mommy, @s_r_z_15 thank you ladies I will definently look into the Medela pump.
if you don't already have a pump call your insurance and they should cover the cost of a new one for you
Mother's Milk tea helps you produce more. And avoiding caffeine and drinking lots of water.
A Medela pump would work, and if you go to your local WIC office or doctor they can show you how to properly use and clean it. Or YouTube can, too.
Storage bags can be bought for storing. Just label the date on them. They last 48 hours in the fridge and 2 months in the freezer (according to my doctor)
@hotrod91, thanks I will probably try both.
