Do you guys know any mamas that smoke weed & breastfeed? It slows the baby's development, right?

I knew a mom that did and her milk supply dried up. But who would do that though , it's completely irresponsible. Babies come first, it can wait.

That's awful. I feel so bad for those babies 😞 some moms just really don't give af.

@bellie0225, I agree:( & I had a girl ask me today if it's ok and I said no it's not safe for the baby if ur breastfeeding! she just gave birth like two weeks ago like weed shouldn't even be on your mind right now 😂😂

THC can stay in your system for up to 24 hours if you're not an avid smoker, and longer if you are...and just like drinking, it leaves your breast milk at the same rate it leaves your body. Therefore, if you smoke bud once, you'll have to wait 24 hours to breastfeed again, and unless you have a bunch saved up or are gonna use formula, it's so irresponsible to smoke while breastfeeding....it's not really harmful to the baby, it doesn't hurt them, but it can make them very tired and lathargic and can slow development, and there hasn't been much research beyond that because no one wants to be a part of that research group and put their baby at risk....so why risk it ourselves, you know?? It baffles me how some moms can't just realize, your baby has only one chance to be a baby and breastfeed and development normally, it's our jobs as mamas to make sure we do what we can to give them the best start in life, and if that means we sacrifice a few years to the cause, so be it! We have the rest of our lives afterwards to smoke all the weed we want lol I told my boo if I ever find weed in my girl's room as a teen or in her backpack or whatever, I'm just gonna smoke it 😂 lol

I must add, my sister in law smoked a few times when my nephew was about 10 months to a year old I think, and she was still breastfeeding him...he was on mostly solids by then and also she had been supplementing by like 1 month of age so he didn't breastfeed a lot anymore, but still....he turned out okay, although his growth has been stunted for a while...I dunno if that's the cause, but he's been in like the 3rd percentile for a while he's 2.5 years old now
