Ok so I'm a new Mommie and my son is going to be 8 weeks old on Sunday and I feel like he is colicky but I'm not sure what the difference is...he has good days where he is fine and content and the next he fights sleep he screams when I touch him won't let me sleep or eat, no temp, no rash, and nothing out of the ordinary...I just want to know two things...what to do with colic and could he not be getting enough formula, he currently is drinking 4oz every 3 to 4 hours...I don't breastfeed cause it stopped coming in...so please help a tired momma
my daughter had collic from 1 week to 6, we got her on soy formula and Dr . brown bottles.
that's your problem I really urge you to get Dr. Browns .
@jasalynnsmommy, right now we have two colic bottles not Browns and then the 97 cents bottles
try soy milk formula ! && what bottles are u using ?
We use gripe water @snowbaby313 and @graciesmom2016 we go on the 16 for his 2 months I'm more worried I'm doing something wrong
@lexyyhemmerling, what was the non-milk based formula you switched to?
Colicy babies scream a lot, and it will happen almost everyday, There's a rule of 3. At least 3 hours a day, for at least 3 days a week, lasting up to 3 months. I believe that's how it goes. A friend of mine had a baby with colic and it was horrible. I would talk to the pediatrician if you're worried
could just be gas pains since he is bottle fed. try little remedies gas drops and see if that helps
He is pooping at least once a day and I will try that
is he pooping regularly? since he's not fussy all the time, iv never had to deal with a colicly baby before so I can't give advice on that I'm sorry. :( but if you think he's not eating enough you can try giving him 5oz and see how he does. burp him at about 3 oz and give him the rest just to make sure there's not a lot of air in his belly.
I would feed every 2 hours, sometimes every hour and a half. Also, they could have a milk intolerance like my little one did. the first 2 months of her life was pure hell. we switched her formula to non milk based and she was a completely different baby
it went away the first day.
