Super frustrating when everybody is pressuring me to start giving Connor rice cereal. Nobody understands the fact that I'm waiting till 6 months like your suppose to.

@theirmommy_2, that's what I'm saying! My mom has been calling me and saying like oh he's 3 months he should be on mostly rice cereal now. I tried telling her how he doesn't have a developed digestive system yet and it just went in one ear and out the other

Don't listen to them, you are doing the right thing by waiting! In fact, for the first year of life their main source of nutrition is breast milk or formula, they don't NEED solids it's just nice to let them explore and learn to eat before the first year 😊 besides, rice cereal is empty caleries, not healthy at all! There's also an alarming amount of arsenic in rice 😲 and should not be a first food to give to baby....when the time comes I strongly suggest baby oatmeal instead

3 months old is way to early to start baby on solid foods. you stick to what you believe is best for YOUR child, not what someone else thinks/says. like some pointed out baby cereal is empty calories with no nutritional value. the way they processe it leaves mostly the sugar. I researched and skipped cereals all together for my kids.

@hellosweetie well thank you for your input! I'm happy to know that rice cereal isn't the best to start baby out on, @sweetlydunn so since you skipped the cereals what did you start your baby out on!?

Personally I started with oatmeal to get her used to the texture of food and eating from a spoon, and also since it's mixed with my breast milk it helped her get used to it quicker....you could just skip straight to baby foods, however. Just mash up some vegetables or fruits to start with, my girl LOVES banana and also like peas lol

@kcamps, I started my kids on avocados, then worked in the more bitter veggies like peas, brussel sprouts, Lina beans. then when to the yellow and orange veggies. I saved fruits till after we were done with veggies.
