I have my first clinical tomorrow and I'm so nervous! Ugh I hope I like it..if all goes well and I like it I'm going to continue on my journey to being a NICU nurse! 💕

That would be awesome!!!!! I was way too emotional when my lil guy was in the nicu. Our experience wasn't bad, but I would probably cry every day I'd have to work if I went into that line of work. More power to you though!! I totally understand the desire to help out the lil's, especially after going through it personally. 💜 #preemiemomstrong 😍

@kimberlyyyy, exactly! It'll definitely be hard, but I feel like I can do that job so much better having the personal experience of having a premature baby in the nicu. I saw sad things when I was there with her and I know what I'll have to deal with, but I think it's worth it!

I cried when the first Brady alarm went off, and then I cried every time my son's roommate's monitors went off, which was quite* frequent. I was a mess. I can't handle seeing babies like that. But when I asked nurses, they said they get into that line of work because they want to help the babies and seeing them grow stronger and bigger was super rewarding and totally worth seeing them small and struggling. I dunno. I would volunteer and hold the babies, but I couldn't do any of the medical stuff. But I think it'll be perfect for you! I felt like nurses who hasn't gone through it were a little insensitive to it, so you'll be able to offer more than just medical support to the baby, you'll be able to provide emotional help to the families as well, and I think that's awesome!

@kimberlyyyy, I know what you mean! I was so emotional when Emma was in there too, and I visited a friends baby in there after and I lost it because of all the emotions it brought back, but I'm really passionate about helping those little babies and moms of premies. I'm just worried about going into nursing, I've struggled with blood and needles in the past, but I'm hoping I'm over that lol I have my clinicals tomorrow as a nurse assistant and if I decide to keep on this path I'll start nursing school in fall

I don't do blood. 🚫💉 nope. That's the other reason why I can't do it. Lol. You can do it though!!!!!!! Push through the not so pleasant parts and know *that you'll be making a HUGE difference in some itty bitty's lives.

I would love to work in the nicu but my son is still in there and I don't think it's the best time to go back to school for my RN

@chunkymonkey9115, I waited until I was a year postpartum to go back. Hopefully your son comes home soon ❤️ how long has he been there?
