So, I had some testing done last week for my AFP which test for Neural Tube Birth Defects. I had the blood work done on 01/25 and the results came in on 01/27. Nobody called me. I only found out about the results on " My Montefiore Chart" I'm just confused on how to read them. I left 2 messages at my doctors office and nobody hasn't gotten back to me today. I'm super nervous. All my ultrasounds including my most recent have been completely NORMAL. Should I be concerned?!😣

What threw me off is at the bottom of the results it has the AFP numbers 75.3 and says neural tube defects NEGATIVE. but under neath it says " abnormal results sent to ordering physician " and then it lost a bunch of other crap. I can upload a picture to show everyone.

Drs don't usually call unless there is an abnormality. They will discuss at your next apt

I hope all is well. All my ultrasounds have been 100% normal.

It reads screen results as negative and your risk is a 1 in 9000 chance. Usually when they just post the results and don't call all is good. Time to worry is when they call you.
