@icedtia, I was thinking that too, but I had my ears pierced as a baby and I kinda like that my holes are permanent. they don't close and when I feel like it I can wear earnings and I have no memory of the pain. so I don't see the harm. but on the other hand is my child's own decision :/
Well, my parents waited until I was old enough to ask... I ended up taking them out, then got them repierced, then took them out... I've had my ears repierced 6 different times... so, I'll be getting my daughter's done at 3 months. and if she decides when she's older that she doesn't want pierced ears she can take them out and let them grow up lol
@erin.c, I was 4 when I had mine done. and they've never closed. I'm 30 almost 31 and I don't wear earrings very often. it's completely up to you. I wouldn't call it child abuse to do it for an infant, I mean we get boys circumcised right? think that's a little more serious than ear piercings lol. it's totally up to you.

I personally think it should be up to your child to do when they're old enough to decide.
