so... this guy in Charlotte got granted leave to come home for the fuckin super bowl from deployment AND given an extra week of leave and my husband can't come home for the BIRTH of our FIRST BORN CHILD??

I was just beginning to accept everything and then I see this dude on the news bragging about being able to do that.

nope. apparently they only let them come back home for the REAL important things. like a football game. but family things? pshhhh of course not! our active duty members families are not NEARLY as important as a football game! @julissalarinaa

When you go into labor, have your dr send a Red Cross message to your husbands command. That's the only way he will be able to come home for the birth. He will also get about 10 days of leave.

It gets him there. Or you can have your dr send a Red Cross when you are close to delivery. I'd rather have my spouse miss the birth and still be there then to not be able to be there at all.
