Every birth control is different for everyone. Some people still bleed or it's lighter, heavier, the same, or stops. Same as other side effects. The best are the shot, iud, or nexplanon. I had the shot bleed once every three months it was very very light and lasted about a week or 2. but it's very hard on your bones if you take it for so long plus I gained a lot on it. I'm now on the nexplanon and love it and still have a period every month but it's really light

what's right for me may not be right for you. I would research different methods and then ask doctor.

And with the birth control I was on I still had my period but it became lighter and shorter.

You should be able to get a prescription. And even with no insurance I think at most it is $4-$12 for three months.

I got it the first time a month after my daughter was born and I haven't had a period since . Everybody is different though .

@jasalynnsmommy, see I was going to get that at my 6 week check up but my obgyn said I'll have periods and they will be heavier but just not every month.

An old school lesson just popped into my head, abstinence. And that is not how I feel. Since I take medicine everyday I always found it easier to take the pill. But it takes about a month to be effective.
