Ftm here!!! I have a question ladies. My baby girl is only 9 days old and I am wondering how much crying is normal. She is really happy when on a boob or sleeping in my arms. (She sleeps pretty good) However, when she is awake she is either crying or fussy. Is this normal??? I am not frustrated or anything I just want to make sure nothing is wrong with her. I breastfeed her or offer her a boob constantly because that seems to be the only thing that calms her.

Crying actually helps them develop their lungs. But I would try to not let her cry too much.

my last one was like this and still is very close to me. I used colic tabs to help her. They seemed to help but I think she just really liked being held 24/7 @babyvicky2016

I think its normal you gotta think she's been in your womb for so long she's used to the tightness and the comfort you give her that's why she don't cry when your holding her BC she's used to it and she finds it soothing have you tried swaddling her they say it helps a lottt!!!! BC it gives them the comfort they had in the womb

Opinions on crying it out?

Opinions on crying it out? My baby is 8 1/2 months old. I've tried the no tears method and it worked a couple times but now it doesn't anymore. I do squats while holding her and rock her (21 lbs baby) for over an hour each nap all for nothing. My friend said she did cry it out and by the 3rd day her baby would only cry 5 minutes and now he's totally fine with sleeping in the crib. Opinions please? I am the only one who actually raises my kid. My fiancé does not help and I have no family that helps. So it is very hard on me. Thank you Edit: because clearly some of the women on here think I'm a monster. I am an EMT. When I go back to work, I will be gone 24 hours at a time. My daughter is almost 9 months old and cries every minute she is not in my arms. As much as I want to comfort her every second of the day, I can't. And it's better I get her used to sleeping on her own now, than not letting her cry and all of a sudden mommys gone for 24 hours at a time and she completely loses it and I can't just get off work to comfort her.

omg... I'm so depressed my child cries more than she doesnt..The only time she's not crying is when she's alsleep.. but she only sleeps 30 minutes each time. she won't sit in her carseat, her crib, pack n play , her swing, bouncer nothing!!! I have to hold ger 24/7 even when she's sleeping or else she will wake up. I'm tired I don't get any sleep nothing soothes her I don't even remember the last time I had enough time to bathe :'( I love her so much but this is so challenging

Holy hell!!!! So I walk into my sister's and the babysitter was SLEEPING!!!! She got here at 830 and I got here at 10, I have no idea how long she was sleeping but OMG!!! I waited for her to wake up. Meanwhile, my 4 kids are not the quietest bunch and when she did I told her she could go home. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 I am shaking. The baby screamed bloody murder when she saw me and would not let me put her down until she left. 😭
