Anyone take birth classes with their first? My doctor keeps asking me if I'm going to take the classes at the hospital. I honestly have no desire to take them. Was it beneficial at all or a waste of time?
Exactly, I agree with you. & That's precisely what it is, repetitive information. You'll do just fine, I assure you! The doctors & nurses will definitely help guide you through your labor & delivery & there is always a lactation consultant & they are extremely caring & helpful!
@wyatts_mommy_0106, that's how I feel. My body was made to do this can't I just wing it? lol I'm normally a very relaxed, laid back person, and I'm really not nervous about it at all. My body will do what it needs to do.
Thanks for your input @mam426 @mommyof3preciousbabies @naomiedgd. I read everything I possibly can, watch documentaries, watch YouTube vidoes, talk to friends and family that have had kids vaginally and c section. I just have no desire to take a whole day and sit in a class that may not give me much new information. My biggest concern is breastfeeding and I know there will be a lactation consultant at the hospital giving me one on one help when the baby is here. idk...
I never took birthing classes I heard they was a waste of time and didn't help so I just went with it
It just wasn't beneficial for me. Those classes don't help when it comes down to really having a baby. This is, however, my opinion. Go with your gut though! If you really want to do them, then go. If you don't care either way, then don't. @39surp
@mommyof3preciousbabies, why waste of time? I was thinking of taking the classes too. They don't help?
I'm a ftm and I'm definitely going to take them. my mom said it helped her a lot with my older sister and she would recommend them to anyone :) She said they even teach you how to push!

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...

So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
That's how I felt so I told my Dr I wasn't gonna be taking any birthing classes and plus the nurses walk you through everything as it is so it would be a waste of time. Our bodies know what to do and when you have a nurse telling you what to do and keep reminding you to breath it is easy lol in a sense
