My OB said the same about my daughter who was born at 6lb9oz. Over dramatic doctors sometimes

But I keep loosing weight like I don't understand ! I know weigh 178 😭 I was 181 last week @mrsthig

yes my first was 5lbs and 13oz when he was born i gained 35lbs during the pregnancy but this one is already 7lbs at 40 weeks ive gained 25lbs so far i lost 2-3lbs and the baby's weight is still the same so idk i guess it just depends on the baby. & its just an estimate its not accurate.

Was there anything writing your baby after birth because of the 5lbs? @lovelycin09

I was losing weight towards the end too, it just happens! Your baby should be just fine love, don't worry about it too much

I had my baby at 37 weeks and he was 5 lbs and was perfectly healthy!

no everything was fine besides that i was anemic and this time iam also. they let us go home 2-3 days after i had him

Both my sons were 5lbs & never did the doctors say anything about being small so you're fine @k.haotic

The smaller the easier to get out 😅

My daughter was 5lbs when she was born at 38w. I had to run and buy a bunch of newborn size clothes because all I had as 0-3 months and she was swimming in them lol

don't worry my first daughter was 4 lbs 15oz my second daughter was 5lbs 14oz and my third daughter was 5lbs 13oz and all were healthy. you may just have small babies.

But they get concerned because a small baby can mean other problems and smaller babies some times can't handle the stress of L&D

Come to find out I had a problem with my placenta and umbilical cord. With my son this time around they we watching him closely to make sure it wasn't happening again... Thank god!

I delivered my son at 36+6 and he was born 6 pounds 12 oz

@jackieelovee22, that's still a big boy! If he would have made it to his due date you probably would have had an 8 pounder!

@jessica0830, yes girl lol When he was born they say he was premie because of the time but not a premie in weight

@k.haotic, drink protein shakes like ensure or something. It was hard for me to eat too with my first and even when I did it was like fruit or something basic.

@k.haotic, I'm not sure gaining weight will increase the babies weight. I gained 50 pounds with all three of my pregnancies and they all came out weighing what they did and that was even with my having gestational diabetes with my last. if you really have concerns with your baby weighing only 5\6 then talk to your doctor but thousands of women give birth to small babies every day and are perfectly healthy. good luck
