Does anyone know about midwives & doulas? Do they accept insurance or is it out of pocket? If you've had one, how did…

Yes, I had to see everyone one on staff even though a doctor would be delivering my baby via c-section.

iSee that you're having twins, some mid wives might not deliver twins bcos they might consider it a high risk pregnancy.

@setsailann, right. I'm only considered high risk because I'm having twins. I've seen plenty of YouTube videos of at home births. I just have to call around to find a good midwife in my area.

My midwives are covered under my insurance. They are partnered with and OB group but they have their own office within the separate birth center. I would only see the OBs for serious issue or if I were to be transferred from the birth center to the hospital during birth. Doulas are more like birth coaches, that are typically not covered under insurance. They are with you from early in your pregnancy and help you with a birth plan and answer any questions. They're a like a support system for you, they're not really a medical person. They're to help you and your hubs/SO during the birth. At least that's how I understand it.

I see a midwife at my doctors office and it's covered under insurance. From what I've heard they may not be able to see you if you are having multiples. Maybe it's different in different areas though.
