If I put my baby's father on the birth certificate does that give him any custodial rights? In Ohio, if you're not married, then the mother automatically gets sole custody. Would putting his name on there change that??

in the state of Tennessee you have to be married for him to sign the birth certificate in the hospital

if he signs it then he's saying he's the dad and it let's him skip a few steps if he'd like to fight back for visits or custody but it doesn't give him any rights bc you aren't married.. he would have to file for them. @kelsicutie

@gabesmommy20, dang I didn't know Tennessee pass that. Guess they are tired of baby mama/baby daddy dramas in courts or just going back to the old ways.
