I'm having the hardest time picking out a good, reliable, and long lasting car seat....I want one that will go all the way up in size till it's ok for my son not to be in one...and I'm not so sure when to start letting him sit forward facing? help ladies! 😊
@crunchymomma, yea I used to wear him when he was smaller...but he's a big OL boy now lol...I may try and use that again...the only time it would be an issue is If we went to eat somewhere and they didnt have a booster we would have to hold him...but hopefully soon he'll be sitting up easier on his own...😊
have you tried babywearing? I'm not using an infant carrier at all, I bought an infantino Mei Tai from target for $30 and I wear her everywhere we go, plus every time I put her in it she sleeps the entire time I'm wearing her. just something to look into if you're interested. I know most mom's LOVE wearing their little ones everywhere.
@crunchymomma, yea I'm just gonna have to get one or the other lol...my son length wise is too big for the one he's in now...my only concern is that if I change him to one of the other ones I won't be able to carry him in no where and he's not quite sitting up on he's own yet...hopefully soon though he'll get his balance worked out lol..and also I like carring him in places when he's a sleep.. 😔 it's gonna be an adjustment but it's for he's safety to get him in a bigger one 😊
They are kind of pricey, that's why I also mentioned the graco milestone, it's basically the exact same as the 4ever but the only difference is it only goes to a high back booster which isn't that big of a deal really but it's like $100 cheaper.
@crunchymomma, thank you for the info...I'm hearing good things about the graco 4ever ones and might just look into getting that one...and I was thinking also to not turn him forward facing until he's two...cause my son is a big OL boy so I don't really go by the weight thing on stuff like that...the graco 4 Evers r kinda expensive but if it will last that long then it is worth it! 😊
the Graco 4ever will go all the way to a no back booster and doesn't expire for 10 years. it's the only all-in-one car seat on the market.
the Graco milestone is good and it goes to a high back booster, then you'll have to buy a no back booster which is like $25
I have a Chicco nexfit that I'm using for my newborn and i LOVE IT. it's the most compact carseat in the market (great for small cars) but it's only rearfacing and forward facing it doesn't go to a booster.
also you don't turn your kid forward facing until 2 years old. a lot of people will say 1 year and 20lbs, but anytime before their 2nd birthday is not safe at all.
