So I've decided I want to try a natural birth, when I say this to most of my family and friends they look at me crazy and some even tell me I can't do it. It's very insulting, I've done my research and I feel it's the best option for me. I don't say anything negative about the mothers who chooses to get the epidural I just wish I had the same support. I want to say it's because of my age, I'm 21, but I feel like I can do it and I hate having to explain my decisions to everyone. 🙄 it's really annoying and quite frustrating.
I was 20 when I had my first. I planned on have a natural birth and that's what I had. I got to the point where I didn't think I could do it cause the pain got so intense but I made it and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Currently pregnant with my second and I plan to have a natural birth again. Just keep I mind that once its over, its over. The pain is gone. As soon as I saw my daughter it was like we were the only 2 in the room and nothing else was going on. Its truly amazing.
@eyeelove, Mentally I just kept going over everything with my dr at each appointment so I knew what to expect. Physically I just walked a lot to help keep my hips a little loose. I also use essential oils which helped me physically beforehand too.
Yea I'm going to remain as positive as possible. @whitneyberber I have 9 wks left (well starting tomorrow) I'll be 31 wks. Did you do anything to help prepare yourself mentally and physically for delivery?
@eyeelove, how much longer do you have? Everything will go well as long as you have it in your mind :) my health complications made my labor difficult, but I still had such a wonderful birthing experience! Just believe it in your heart and mind and it will all go smoothly :)
@whitneyberber, thanks. That's very encouraging. I will do just that. Just hoping everything goes well.
I planned on a natural birth, no iv, no epidural, etc. it didn't work out for me because I had to be induced (baby went way overdue and I had severe health issues) but you can do it!! I was barely 22 when my daughter was born. I promise, you can do it. Just give yourself grace. My dr totally supported my decision to have a natural birth. My advice is to tell the dr and nurses up front not to offer any meds (it's much easier to give in to the request when people are asking while you're having a contraction) and make sure everyone in the room knows your wishes so they can stand up for you and act as a buffer. You got this :)
I was 21 when I had my daughter ,still am lol, and had an all natural birth, wasn't planning to but I did. And everything was just fine. Honestly of you can get past the contractions then you're golden. The pushing was such a relief for me even for coming out was better then the contractions. If you want to do an all natural you go for it don't listen to anyone else. I actually plan on doing the same the next time I have a baby.
