BIRTH STORY~ Midna Lotus Malinowska//Dec. 29 2015 5AM free in water my star is born.

Life is anew and my days completely altered. Labor started at 45 weeks for me, I first noticed these cramp like sensations around 7 the night before. The cramps were subtle coming and going I didn't think much of them at first so I went about as I normally do. A few hours pass and I feel the cramps coming on stronger, it was after midnight that I decided to time them I was unsure if what I was feeling to be false or actual labor. As we're timing my husband and I start cleaning up a bit, the pattern of the contractions were irregular but came on 2-3 mins apart from each other sometimes 5-7 mins. Around 2-3AM I couldn't continue cleaning, it was so hard to focus on anything, everything started feeling hazy and it was at this point I realize I'm in active labor. I told Marcel to setup the pool, in my head I felt I wanted my close friends and family present but could only muster to tell him to call his mom and my sister as I hopped in the shower. Labor was progressing fast, my experience was very psychedelic- highly spiritual I felt sensitive and susceptible to all kinds of energies. Once I was out of the shower I was sprawling myself all over the air mattress we have laying out trying to find a comfortable position, intense energy was taking over engulfing me completely. Doubts and uncertainty crossed my mind along with the word 'pain'. "what if I should go to the hospital?" "what if I get the epidural?" then it was gone by a simple NO. As I released my answer I let go of myself and from the mattress I rolled onto the floor laying next to the pool my husband was now filling with water, I found the only position comfortable to be polar bear- on my knees face down. Marcel soothed me using our hypno-color indigo, he had a very calm being through the whole experience. When the water was ready I got in and the surges felt instantly relaxed. Marcel put in rose petals in the pool, they smelled fragrant and soften the water. I sat leaning back for a while until I found myself back in polar bear position only instead of face down I'm resting over the pool. Now this part out of the whole experience was the only time I truly felt any kind of actual pain. As I was on my knees and the contractions were coming on much stronger, my body was in control pushing my butt felt like it was going to spilt in two but that's not what hurt- the feeling was in my legs and thighs. They were beyond trembling I've never felt pain similar. Of everything that could have held me back from birthing my daughter it was this feeling, I knew in that moment that I had exercised not nearly enough or at all, strictly physical but it interrupted my intention to birth this baby and I was trapped in a cycle. I wasn't trapped for long though, I prayed and reached out to spirits for help and help they did. I overcame the pain in my legs/thighs from there my body left it to the baby and I to finish. My husband was in the pool at this point I told him the baby is coming, I couldn't tell if she was head or butt first. Her head emerged first and I felt release. Marcel was in awe, he saw her open her eyes underwater and locked on to him. He encouraged us, saying "..just a lil more" push and the rest of her slid out my husband caught her then passed her under to me I lifted her up from the water, so beautiful, strong and healthy, immediately active as well. I can't describe the feelings I had holding her I was in disbelief and delirium. My sister and his mom showed up a half-hour after she was born. It all happened so fast and just incredible. Right now Midna is a month and 3 days old growing so fast and ever stronger. I love her. <3 =] #unassisted #freebirth #waterbirth
