I had a horrible first experience 😓 The dr didn't administer it right the first time, took him FIVE times to get the needle in the right place. I rested for about an hour then started feeling the contractions again but even more painful than before. When I told my nurses I was in a lot of pain the didn't believe me! Saying I was feeling the pressure of the baby. I was crying and shaking couldn't control my breathing from how much pain I was in. Finally after another hour the called the dr and started the whole epidural process again and thankfully got it in the first try. 😭
my fiance's sister got one that was administered wrong and her entire body went numb and it caused her baby to have a stroke durring labor and as a result half his body is paralyzed .
my sister in law got it and she regretted it. she had the first couple natural. everyone tells me it's awesome at first but your back kills you after. and me I'm a control freak about my body I want control when pushing. and I've researched epidurals. don't be ashamed if you get one though.
My best friend actually had a stroke from an epidural. I always say to do your research and be well informed before making any health decision. I personally cannot have one because of a spinal curvature.
I got mine at 7 cm and it was too late. it only affected half of my body and then it was gone within 5 minutes. I plan to have one with this baby but much sooner.
