I am pretty upset right now. My first child I did not have any horrible pregnancy symptoms this time around I had everything! A nurse practitioner gave me Diclegis and I learned that it was recalled after I had already taken it and it was prescribed.. (They gave it to me at doctor's office.. Tried to get a refill it and my insurance denied and sent me a letter explaining why they denied it) I went in for my gender ultrasound found 2 weeks later that my son's head was smaller than normal.. the nurse told me he had spots in his brain that were showing unnormal... but the doctor told me his fine his head is just smaller than it's supposed to be and could be a cause of me taking Diclegis. My friend made a post on fb talking about the medication and everyone commented and told her not to take it. 3 out of everyone that commented said their kids were born with a cleft palate and that they had taken the medication with that that child... all other kids were born fine and that medication was not taken.. So now I'm a bit frustrated that this medication could have had an effect on my son's development
My doctor refused to give me Zofran that was not even an option only Tylenol or Diclegis. Im starting to believe it might be a mess up on the medical professionals side simple because she already gave me false information. Plus that ultrasound was horrible she made me do jumping jacks. squats. lay on both sides and even get on my hands and knees while she did the ultrasound. I think everything is okay. I'm just confused and going to leave it be until my ultrasound this week. I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow. @rachelirene
And zofran had negative effects and not everyone has a kid with cleft palate or cleft lip. Doctor still prescribe that to people and where I am it's been taken off the list.
well you're 20 weeks and I'm 16 weeks. I'm asking on Thursday if my baby has any abnormalities.
I did too. I didn't see anything wrong with it because it's listed safe and it helped a lot with my sickness. I didn't listen to anyone that told me not to because I'm like why would they prescribe it.. since then I've heard nothing but negative after negative now this... if your use to taking it continue. Seems like I was getting the run around from that office anyways she said my child had spots in his brain that was abnormal that turned out to be false and they would be able to tell in an ultrasound if there was anything wrong already.. don't want to discourage you. This is just my experience and other people shared theirs with me as well but we're all different @rachelirene
Well before I took it I've read all those side effects and none of them were even close to that and they weren't even bad
Everyone's body is different so I don't want to scare you.. but I've heard nothing but bad outcomes about it.. I have yet to hear a mother say her baby was completely fine. @rachelirene
Wow that's ridiculous now I'm scared. I took that for 12 weeks. and still take it otherwise I get sick. @mommyofdmm @0816mommy
Yes this week and I go in for blood work & another ultrasound to see if his head is growing if not I have to get steroids. @0816mommy
I hope. nobody said anything so I'm not worrying yet. @bphipps29 @mommyofdmm that's ridiculous. I would have walled out.
