yes I am. I heard if you don't then you absolutely need to clean down there every single day or they can get infections.

That's the last thing I'd want for my son. :( my SO isn't circumcised and at first he didn't want to get him cut but he said it'd be ultimately my decision. Luckily I have 8 weeks to decide whether or not I wanna put him through that or not. @lilbabyboy16 I do see where you are coming from tho I heard that too

@lilbabyboy16, my old friends brother almost lost his penis due to an infection. sounds kinda funny but its really sanitation reasons as to why people should choose to get their boys circumsized

My son will be circumsized. I don't want him to be at risk for infections. also when he become sexually active, he can give girls bacteria infections as well. @lilbabyboy16

I got my boys circumcised and working in the medical field I have seen many grown men having to have it done, which is a whole lot worse when they're older. Even if he keeps it clean like he's supposed to a girl can give him STDS or infections that men don't get symptoms from. So from a medical professional stand point I'd rather them have it done where they won't remember it, instead of having to have it done when they're older and will be much more painful and remember it

I personally recommend for you to read EVERYTHING about circumcisions. I if ever have a boy would not have them touch his penis. its natural. its there for a reason.

I got my first son circumcised and will also with this one. My father is 58 years old and had to get circumcised and the older you get they can't put you under or even give you anything to numb the pain. He had to sit through the whole thing feeling everything. He said it was the most painful thing he's ever had to endure.

yes it's quite common and a few other ladies I've talked to on here had to have it done on their sons when they were a lil older and they said that it was much worse and broke their hearts and that they weren't gonna a make that mistake again with their next son. My boys are 5 months and I've had no problems, less than a week it was healed, they didn't cry when it was done either. they came back to me all happy. All the males in my family have had it done and they're all fine never had a problem with it. But being older and having it done is definitely not a good memory that they want.

Yes, he cries for days afterwards because he couldn't urinate without bleeding. It took a few weeks to heal up, I would recommend one for him but you should read it up and even ask your obgyn they could be very helpful.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with me @twinmamma2015 it gives me a different perspective on circumcision. All I know is I want to give my son the best quality of life. This definitely is a touchy subject to some people and every one has their reasons and own beliefs on what they want to do. I just don't wanna have my son being in any pain. For me personally I am leaning towards circumcision. I know he will need to heal but in the long run I feel that an infection in the penis would be much more detrimental than having the procedure done as a baby. As you get older you remember everything that happens to you. Circumcision when you are older I've heard is one of the worst things ever

exactly and yes everyone has their own opinion on it. But again I'd rather them.have it done when they won't remember having it done. they get over it so quick. it's definitely not a decision to make lightly but it's something that I've seen first hand that it's better to do it early rather than later.

Your welcome @abelsmom also it only takes up to maybe a week for your baby to heal and it doesn't hurt them much. My son healed in two days and he never even cried from it. Good luck in whatever you choose!

I completely agree with @momtob3 watch videos & read all the information you can find about it. I won't be circumsizing my son when he is born. I don't find the need to snip a bunch of his nerve endings just for cosmetic reasons. My SO isn't circumsized & has never had a problem. As long as you keep it clean when they are young & teach them to properly clean it & keep good hygiene/ practice safe sex when they get older there should be no worry about infections.

but it's not just your son to worry about. what about the women he risk infecting? It'd pain he won't even remember as an infant. Just because you teach your child something doesn't mean he will follow through. I won't be know as the mother of a son who gives women infections all because I didn't want him to be on pain. he is gonna fall and hurt himself plenty of times while growing up. I'm teaching my daughter to stay away from uncircumcised men.

My son was circumcised when I had him, but I was 17 and very naive. I did no research and at the time I'm sure I didn't even know what it meant to have an uncut penis (my high school definitely failed us in sex ed, and while my mother explained the birds and the bees, and puberty and stds/prevention, we never discussed foreskin lol. I never knew it was a thing.) With this one, should insurance cover it, I am going to research it heavily before deciding. I don't feel like my son was wronged or slighted by being circumcised, I'm just more aware now than I was back then.

@emilyg, could have not said it better. if girls get infected could be because they are not cleaning either. lol you have to clean yourself to keep it from infections. I didnt cut my girls either. I keep it clean. if you dont keep it clean you get infections too. its common sense.
