I got a phone call from my midwife a few days ago. I have a second growth scan in 3 weeks, she said I need to see a consultant, what is this about and what will happen? My boy seemed to be growing fine at the growth scan and was head down? Should I be worried?

I was 28 weeks 2 days at the time of the scan so his head was big! @tuftyturtle so I really don't understand! Suppose I'll just have to wait till the 29th of Feb and see for myself! X

If the head is smaller , they get concerned about microcephaly.i had my daughter 3 weeks ago at 37 weeks coz she was small. But after the 20 week scan and then another scan at about 23 weeks, her head was measuring 3rd centile and the rest of her was about 8th. I had to see a consultant and a special fetal medicine department. and after a few scans with him, he checked brain development etc he decided that she just had a naturally small head. I honestly wouldn't worry....he said that it would he usual not to see people with smaller heads than other people. It's like expecting all people of the same age to have the same length legs etc. It's just a normal variation...but they like to double check and juat make sure 😊 x

im sure all will ne fine i was told they couldnt get my baby girls head measurments due to her being so far down.. the consultant will just answer any questions you have hun.. try not ro worry.. im sure all will be fine.. and will do hun Xx @beccastirlingx

It's weird how they want me to see a consultant because his head was measuring 29 weeks but his growth was on track other than that, but he is head down and still hasn't turned back round 😂 @babyboots keep us updated! Xx

dont worry hun babys classed as full term at 37 weeks and they only do this if babus not growing.. im sure our babys will be fine and just like to worry us 💟 @beccastirlingx and thanks xx

they will just discuss options it all depends on babys size hun if hes deopped again they may consider induction at 37 weeks... this is what iv been told got my 3rd growth scan in morning @beccastirlingx hope all goes well for u and baby x

growth scan... It seems like everyone is getting growth scans except me :( this is my 4th baby and not one doctor ever offered a scan after my 20 week anatomy scan. Is there a medical reason your doctor gives you ladies a growth scan?
Hi I am into my 15 week now But since last two days am not having good feeling....I just feel something is wrong inside wid d kid...all my symptoms r too less Morning sickness is gone....Metallic taste of my tounge is also less....and I feel pain in my abdoman twice or thrice which is very minor though What should i do i am very confused Already have gone through 5 scans because of changing gynec Just feel that untill i hear the heartbeat or see my kid i wont b ok....got sleepless nights
Growth scan My baby is an ESTIMATED
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Oh in that case they probably just want to follow up to see if the growth is evening out etc. I'm sure it will be fine. I know that doesn't help coz we still worry. They panicked me every week from 20 weeks and my baby turned out perfect and nobody has even worried that she's 'small' since she's been born. They just like to be cautious, big or small xx
