Now having an argument with OH because his dad wants us to take baby down when she's born to see him and his girlfriend (5 hours drive) but they smoke like chimneys in the house and it's disgusting. They didn't bat an eyelid when I went to visit in early pg so had to get the train home by myself. I've said that they can come up here to visit us in a public place (so they don't try and smoke in my flat) and OH said he'll take her down by himself then. Over my dead body🙄

I wouldn't let my OH take my baby somewhere like that either hun so stand your ground if people really want to see lil baba then they can come to you. x

They're lovely people but they just can't seem to think rationally about smoking. They refused to smoke outside when I visited last time so I had to leave. His dad smoked excessively around him and his sister when they were growing up and OH's growth has stunted and he struggles to put on weight. SIL has also got heart problems. The smoking probably contributed to their health problems. I don't know how they'd happily do the same to their granddaughter! X

I told my mum straight that she has to smoke in the kitchen if she's gunna smoke in the house.. She respected that.. Although she didn't respect it when I pregnant.. Just tell them nicely that you would appreciate they smoke elsewhere, away from baby and tell them you cannot have your baby around it, if they can't smoke elsewhere... Meaning you won't go.. Be firm because at the end of the day your baby girls health is more important as you know :) hope they come round xx
