I have PCOS & I don't get why I have to take birth control & metformin at the same time? isn't birth control supposed to stop you from ovulating & metformin is supposed to help you ovulate? This is so frustrating. I just want to be able to get pregnant..

I'm currently cd 14 I been taking these ovulation test sense cd 8 an they all seem to be negative I have a 28 day cycle now sense I been taking metformin but I guess I haven't ovulated yet but the very last test the line is so light u can barley see it

Finally Got answer's to why i Haven't ovulated or Concieved ?

So went today for my blood results and ultrasound reviews and my ob has confirmed I have pcos and put me on birth control pills to regulate my period whitch I'm starting on the first of next month, and he also prescribed metformin 500mg 2× a Day To help with the pcos I'm guessing???? And then on my way out he tells me my blood work showed a slight elevation on my thyroids so he gave me Levothyroxine 0.05mg 1x day to help with that .....

After a talk with my honey, even though we still are wanting to adopt, we decided to do one last try naturally! Making an appointment with my doctor for Provera again (starts your period), Metformin again (helps with ovulation) and for the first time Clomid (makes more than one egg be released)! So fingers crossed girls!

Hi. I was wondering if it's OK that I join this group now. I was 8w but today I found out its a blighted ovum. This is my 4th loss.. I'm scheduled for a D&C Friday. My Dr said I could start ttc right away.. I'm taking Metformin and baby aspirin. I don't have pcos. Dr is just trying to me out because I am 34.. Does anyone have any tips, advice? Or just a comforting hello :)
