I have a dog and my 1 year old has been around him since we brought him home from the hospital and he don't have asthma

I grew up with my dog and I dont have asthma. I had so many animals in my room always, cats, dogs, birds, gerbals, reptiles. I do not recommend a snake lol my dad brought me home one when I was tiny and it was a gopher that wraped around me kinda tight when I was alone with it. I was a naughty kid. dad was told to set it free.

I doubt it's true lol my little brother had asthma & it went away when we got a dog..

if your children grow up with the animals it actually helps build their immune system, and they won't be prone to get sick easily my son is 9 months old and he's only been sick twice

Yes it's a myth, it's fine to have the dog around the baby just don't let the dog lick her face too much to avoid fecal germs in her mouth lol but a little dog fur and spit won't hurt! My girl hasn't been sick yet and she's 5 months and we let her touch the dog and cat, and even though I lay a blanket out for her for floor time she still rolls and scoots on the bare hard wood floor and then noms on it LOL healthy as a horse still! Also just so you know, there's been studies that say breastfeeding actually reduces risk of asthma for your baby! I wish I was breastfed longer than a couple months because I have asthma lol my mom also smoked in front of my brother and I all our lives too so yea....anyways lol

it's a myth. it's actually good to have the dog around the baby and is proven to reduce risk of asthma. but I wouldn't necessarily let the pup lick on the baby too much
