Did anyone else's obgyn suggest getting the tdap? And did you get it?

Nope it wasn't brought up and I didn't want it anyways.

Yes and it really wasn't that bad. just made my arm sore for a couple days. it's to prevent the baby from getting either of those infections when they're born

Yeah, and I'll be getting it. I got the flu shot willingly.

the flu shot was also suggested and I got it...but it definitely wasn't as important as the tdap.

i got the tdap, and sadly i got all the side effects from it! i didnt get the flu shot because my family always ends up getting sick from that shot lol.

suggested it. I got an entire paper on how it's recommended that anyone coming in contact with a newborn should get the vaccine a couple weeks prior to holding the baby. haven't you seen the whooping cough commercial where the grandma turns into the big bad wolf when the new parents hand her their baby? my mom's doctor even told her that our birth center will not allow her in there without the vaccine. I don't think it's something to take lightly...but that's just me I suppose.

yes, my whole family and the father of the baby's family got it as well

@jaycereillysmommy, yeah that's what he said cause babies can't get the tdap until they are 2 months which leaves them in possible harm until then.

I got the flu and tdap just because it can protect the baby once they're born until time for them to get it themselves.
