Amen sista! Im 40 weeks today and I have tried nothing to induce myself. Just doing regular daily activities and now im 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced! My midwife said people are wasting their time trying to induce themselves, so I have been just sleeping and resting away. THATS what my body needed!

I agree. I went to 41w6d and it was miserable, but assuming there are no complications, baby will come when they are supposed to. I started natural induction techniques the day after my due date and it didn't really do anything for almost 2 weeks anyways lol.

I'd prefer my baby come at 40 weeks! But most women think 37 is full term because a lot of doctors tell them that! Mine told me that last night!! I don't have a PH.D. So I'm not gonna try and say wether I think it is or not but apparently it's considered full term to some doctors and when they tell their patients that, girls tend to get a little impatient and don't understand why they aren't in labor at 37 weeks

Agreed! I've been doing the same, and drinking a glass of raspberry leaf tea each day. I went from still being closed to a week later 1cm 80% and at a 0. People don't understand that our bodies know what to do, and when to do it ya know. My midwife said the same, she was like you need to rest up this last week while you can!😂😂 @preggimama

if it weren't for having twins I know I woulda gone past 40 weeks! all the babies in my family were always late!

Plus I feel like women that try to induce early are going to be more stressed out! I mean, they have to end up getting frustrated if its not working and they are tired!? I rather be a well rested woman, then a women that feels defeated! @babyjjsmommy

@rachael_lyann, I've seen girls say that their doctors have told them that too, so I don't hold that against them. Those are the people who are guiding us through this experience and for FTM like me I could see where they'd solely trust in what the doctor says. Now, it did used to be 37 weeks was considered full term, from what I've been told. So it could just be that doctors are stuck in their ways and still believe that is true. But again I wish it could just be an across the board thing, so that these girls weren't misguided because when they start trying to use castor oil and other inducing techniques at 36 weeks or before, it's jeopardizing the baby's health. I don't agree with using castor oil no matter how far along you are anyway, way too dangerous.

Oh that shit pisses me off when girls take castor oil!! Even if your doctor tells you 37 weeks is full term, they will also tell you to let your body do its natural thing!! I don't see a problem with walking and having sex to try and get labor started but it's stupid to take castor oil!! Mine told me that it would be 3 more weeks before she expects an arrival and that's fine with me! If baby boy isn't ready he isn't ready
